What could bring about this ‘silent’ mind or ‘empty’ mind in the moment? If it turns out that a quiet mind / brain is what is required if Man is ever to be delivered from his misery, what use is ‘knowledge’? What use is thought? It’s simple to see its value in the technical, practical world but is it of any value at all where the necessity of a quiet mind may be the only state that is needed?
I think logically that is the case, all living things. But Man has a problem. K and DB came up with the ‘wrong turn’, Man for whatever reason started to go in a ‘wrong’ direction and to cease going in that wrong direction necessitates a a ‘radical transformation’.
Agreed. I was just meaning that even the brain of an unregenerate human being is something to be respected, treated with care - as is the case with all living things.
But, yes - until the human brain (or ‘a’ human brain) has become quiet - in the correct way (as pointed to by K) - the potential that it has for universal mind (or whatever word one wishes to use) to act through will remain merely potential.
We may understand what Krishnamurti’s was saying, but few (if any of us) have understood completely enough to have no further use of his teaching.
Heh, that’s an idea.
Isn’t there that fundamental question:
Can you understand what life is really about without ever knowing about the K teaching?
I can’t believe that without K’s teaching the noisy, conditioned brain can’t be quiet. More than likely, it has happened many times before K was born.
No faith is needed to understand that this is possible.
True. ‘Faith’ is the snake.
I don’t think even Krishnamurti would say his teaching was the only way to “understand what life is really about”. When he said it was a matter of being a light to oneself, he wasn’t alluding to a teacher/teaching.
