The ‘hurting’ is the interpretation , the reaction to what has entered the ‘room’…Better to just show it the door? No?
The “door” is seeing the reaction for what it is.
And when the ‘reaction’ is hurtful, to not immediately run from it. It’s the reaction that’s important not what may have ‘caused’ it. I can call you stupid or whatever , that says something about me. But your reaction reveals something about you, no?
