Knowing

Do you know this and if so what is it that registered this?

Thinking about it … I am sure you must also have done it and doing it.

Does it not act as a trigger? Sthg that comes out of the blue and makes you wonder about the life you are having i.e. this one life and what am i doing with it?
One can call it an experience but I am very hesitant to use this word. Because we are all so keen on experiences, aren’t we,?

Nevertheless it still resides in me and the only reason why I tell about this, is simple:
It might open a dialogue when one puts sthg in it of his own. No?

And to answer your questions: I think you did, didn’t you?

It is always me that knows, through experience registered in memory.

But why the question? Is the question about whether insight or the action of intelligence can be experienced, or is somehow outside of experience?

There is so much knowledge about that knowledge would be a game-changer in seeing while in the verbiage, knowledge is omnipresent.

Any answer would be a waste of words on what may or may not have happened in the moment.

Quite the contrary. What we think of as knowledge is, to a large extent, belief or misinformation that serves/supports our desperate determination to maintain the illusion of self.

It isn’t useful practical knowledge “that stands in our way of perceiving”, but what we mistake for knowledge, i.e., what we think we know.

I’m not sure what you’re saying here.

Believe it or not, neither am I.

Well, i gave the example of the bird and by naming it (which is knowledge), we do not see it.

When K says : the word is not the thing., isn’t it so that the word (which is knowledge) cannot be the thing (which the word stands for).
At least, that what I have understood of it.
But, you might ofcourse disagree.

And if you put this simple example over 60 years of talking of K you’ll understand that all the text is pointing to … !!!

And all we do here is discussing about where he is pointing to …

It looks to be a beautiful day today. The sun has dissolved the white frost on the roofs and cars. The birds scavenge some food in the garden and the spring sound and fresh morning breeze makes it complete. An invitation to soon head into the forest for a brisk walk to provide my stiff legs with the necessary exercise

I wish you a very good walk!

What is the thing? What is the thing without the word?

Aside from our practical relationship with existence, what is a thing?

In this ‘energy field’ a brain has evolved that can give ‘names’ to the nameless and for the first time that we ‘know’ of, ask: “why”.

The ‘namer’ separated itself from the ‘named’?

The conditioned brain can’t know what anything is because it is limited to words, images, and feelings it names.

What is the thing without the word?

We can’t know because we only know signifiers - never that which they signify.

It’s all the conditioned brain can do. If it doesn’t “get” what K was pointing to, it hasn’t a clue as to what its limitation is.

Yes, that’s what he meant. You won’t find anyone denying this.

Why then , i ask myself, do we give so much importance to the word? Is it because we do not know anything else?
We talk about love, but we know for sure that talking about love , isn’t love at all. So, love is not in the field of knowing.
Does love exist at all, given the fact that we don’t know it and maybe we will never know it? Can we put it aside and stop seeking? After all you can only seek after sthg which you already know, no? You cannot seek sthg which you do not know, yes?

Yes, if finding out is not what matters most.

Is it possible for a conditioned brain to stop seeking, to stop asking questions at all? To go in circles ?
What will end this? Is there sthg that will end it?
And yes, we are going to die and probably that will be the end of it.
But in the mean time we keep on living and this is an opportunity to find out more.
(I have to go now, hopefully we can resume our conversation)

This is starting to look like a mantra.

Is it possible for the conditioned brain to shut down and is that a doing of the brain?

Before people gave meaning to zero as meaningful information in calculus, years passed, even in physics it took centuries before people gave meaning to measuring no positive or negative.

After all, the measuring device does do something it measures ZERO !
