In Search of the Miraculous

Krishnamurti: The brain can conceive, formulate, or make a design for the future, but this stillness is beyond its range, beyond all imagination, beyond all desire.

Krishnamurti: Do you decide to observe? Or do you merely observe? Do you decide and say, “I am going to observe and learn”? For then there is the question: “Who is deciding?” Is it will that says, “I must”"? And when it fails, it chastises itself further and says, “I must, must, must”; in that there is conflict; therefore the state of mind that has decided to observe is not observation at all.

A suggestion to start off tomorrow’s dialogue:

“Is there any such thing as ‘free thought’”?

Is there such a thing as “free thought”?

YES, it comes spontaneously when “I must I must I must” state is not there. When it comes, it’s obvious and not speculative and need not be conveyed/controlled. It’s just there, beautifully and innocent/vulnerable.

BUT - In our daily lives, we only go as far as it’s convenient for us so long as it does not interfere with our “good” “secure” lives that is ridden with “I must must must” with no end.

What would happen if we lived spontaneously (and therefore actually securely)?
What happens when there is love?
