Forum closure

For personal reasons and because I feel it has outlived its usefulness, I have decided to shut down this discussion forum and the Kinfonet website permanently at the end of January or soon thereafter.

Please wrap up and/or save your conversations as they will no longer be available after that time.

While the discussions here have often been intense and, at times, deeply polarized, I recognize that this platform has been an important space for many. Thank you all for your participation and engagement over the years.

Is there a similar sort of space online?

All I can think of is facebook - I suppose there might be a reddit (though I’m not familiar)

A lot of the interactions often feel painful and sad - but who knows - maybe some of this foolishness has been useful to somebody.
For me I am grateful for the opportunity to discuss this stuff as best we can - even if its usually very basic and confused.

I don’t mind what happens. That is the essence of inner freedom. It is a timeless spiritual truth: release attachment to outcomes, and—deep inside yourself—you’ll feel good no matter what.

Kirsten and Dano have a Facebook page.
It’s called The Art of Inquiry.
Apart from that it’s slim pickings.
Unfortunately KFA is indifferent to the situation. Just like K Ning.

It is unfortunate, why do you think that is?

Well, Kinfonet has no direct connection to KFA, but it remains the closest thing to a social media site involved with Krishnamurti. KFA sponsored
K Ning until this past September, when they cut off funding.

What does it cost to run a forum like this? It’s very well set up.

Time and a couple of hundred dollars a year to host the site - plus a one time payment to buy a domain name.

Thank you very much for all the discussions that went on here even though I was not very active but used to go through lot of discussions here and on many occasions partial insight and flash of derstanding that occurred were during those moments. Thank you once again.

Thank you very much for offering this discussion forum to those who would be interested in delving deeper into what someone called Krishnamurti shared with all of us, should any of us decide to take a walk with him in observing life together.

Everything has an end as is easily observable in the day to day life of any of us and this forum is not going to be less, is it? So there is no need to be sad. After all, the discussions we have shared here are not very different from any discussion we might have in our daily life with its conflicts, confrontations and so on. You all know what I mean: ‘Don’t go out into life thinking that the forum is one thing, and the people we meet on a daily basis are quite another’.

Well, I take this opportunity to thank all the members of the forum, those with whom I have exchanged some ‘thoughts’, and those who shared their ‘thoughts’ in the forum which, although I did not comment, I also read attentively. I thank all of you for making me look at myself and question myself constantly with your exchanges of views.

So take care all of you and receive a big hug from Spain, Juan.
(You see @Anon , at the end I wrote my name! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

p.s.: the amazing things in life: I’ve been listening to CĂ©line Dion all the time while writing this and answering other pending things, and just now the song ‘Ne me quitte pas’ is playing. Life is really amazing.

Thanks to Dev for all the time, energy, patience and money he has put into this site over the years. It has indeed been an important place for many of us. Thanks to all of you for the discussions we’ve had. Surely K’s teachings are more relevant than ever in this troubled world we live in. Maybe some of our paths will cross again in the future. Until then, goodbye and take care.

Thank you Dev, for providing a space where we could think/observe together. Or the difficulties of communicating with to each other could come to light for joint observation.

Thanks to all of you and be well!

All that is temporary is worldly, and all that is worldly is temporary.

We are only guest/visitor in this world,

It ‘feels’ that way but K’s statement: “You are the world” points out something quite different, doesn’t it?
Something quite out of ‘time’?
