So, essentially AI is not different from science, which also works with calculated probabilities.

But it doesn’t need to. All it needs to say is that Krishnamurti said this or that.

I think it is not a question of what a chat program should necessarily say.
A chat program calculates probabilities of word connections from already existing texts and the requests that are made to it.
If you want to know what Krishnamurti said, you can go to text collections like krishnamurti.org, books or video recordings. These are then at least free from other opinions about it, not necessarily from your own.

It’s one thing for AI to express what is commonly assumed by the typical reader, and quite another thing to support the bias of the typical reader. Most likely the programmers aren’t even aware of this bias, seeing as how it’s so common as to be taken for granted.

We have prejudices and motives, even if we think we are objective. This has an impact when programming chat programs, especially by training the program with texts that contain evaluations, opinions and polite forms (thus almost all texts).

Good question! I’d say mankind should continue to develop their natural mental abilities assisted by AI and all the other educational resources, not to rely on AI exclusively …

Howdy - you say “develop mental abilities” - before we get into the details of what those might be, can we make sure we’ve agreed on the “direction” we want to take?

What are we aiming for? Wellbeing is the usual consensus. Agreed?
If so, what kind of mental abilities were you thinking of?

Thinking by consensus? How will that assist us develop advanced mental abilities?

Sorry mate! This is way out of my league. May the force be with you.
