What is Presence?

Is presence being in the now? What is the essence of presence? Is presence awareness, timelessness?

Here’s part of Google’s AI response, " In psychology, presence is the ability to be fully engaged with life in the moment… It involves being open to connecting with others and the world…

  • Being in the moment: Being fully present in the moment, and directly experiencing all aspects of life on many levels…

  • Being open to connection: Being open to connecting with others, the world, and the mystery of life…

Being present can be challenging because it opens you up to your full range of emotions, but it can also connect you to your vitality and wisdom."

Is presence pervasive, unifying, fluid? Are we presence or is it something we onboard? Does presence have anything to do with what K was talking about when he said, “You must have a mind that is capable of receiving the whole universe.”?

T. Stamp had a mention of this in his book. He said K. said to him: “Be present in the Presence”.

So no resistance - and no expectations

The main mistake we make is that we expect “presence” to be a certain way - if we think presence should be like this (or that) or we hope to gain something from it - it has become limited

Presence (with a capital P) is the world as it is ‘presented’ to our senses. It is the sacred made manifest. We are part of it- everything is part of it. In our ignorance we have ‘divided’ it into this and that, me and you, observer and observed, past and future, life and death…but there is no actual division, it is the one Presence.

We are in the presence of each other by existing for each other, by being aware of each other and loving each other in that existing.
