Thought is usually reflexive, reactive, which means every thought needs to be examined to see if it’s repeating and sustaining presumptions and prejudices, or expressing something new. Awareness of and interest in what raw, naked thought reveals is the self-knowledge that makes one wary of publishing unexamined thoughts.

It’s possible to think, speak, and write in coherent sentences that amount to a coherent theory about what, exactly, the human condition is. If I grokk K’s teaching, reason (adherence to coherency) is a step in the right direction, but is not The First Step, which is the last.
