When I say that thought is all we’ve got, obviously I don’t mean we’re automatons without “intuition, feeling, emotion, and pure awareness”.
We know intuitively that we are without intelligence, so we seek leaders, teachers, saviors to guide and direct us, and we depend on intellect to substitute for intelligence. We’ve been doing this for so long we don’t know how not to do it. But clearly, teachers, leaders, and the intellect do not awaken the intelligence that is a light to oneself.
Do I know this to be true? Of course not. This is what the intellect does when it hits the wall: it reads the writing on the wall…which is just more intellect.
