Someone suggested to me that African Americans are in a similar situation vis a vis ‘esoteric’ teachings; their concern is racism? That is a generalization but it is a fact many have had to contend with psychologically as well as physically all their lives…
I’d say that it’s only true if they’ve not got enough to get by…to pay rent and feed their family. If their physical needs are being met, I’d say racism is only affecting them psychologically, and they might benefit very much from the teaching.
